619.13(O) Owner of Copyright for a Limited Term
The U.S. Copyright Office will accept an application stating that the claimant owns all the exclusive rights in the work for a limited term or a limited period of time, if it is clear that the claimant owned the rights as of the date that the Office received the application, deposit, and filing fee. If it appears that the claimant did not own all the rights when the claim was received or if the claim was filed after the period of ownership expired, the registration specialist will communicate with the applicant.
