1509.2 (E) Audiovisual Works
The term “audiovisual works” encompasses many categories of works that are “intrinsically intended to be shown by the use of machines or devices ” 17 U.S.C. §
101. Motion pictures represent the largest category of audiovisual works; these types of works are discussed in Section 1509.2 (F). The audiovisual components of computer screen displays are discussed in Section 1509.1 (F) (6). For all other types of audiovisual works, the deposit requirements vary depending on whether the work has been fixed on a CD-ROM or another type of machine-readable copy.
